The ACCA Qualification

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants is one of the largest accountancy bodies in the world. The ACCA qualification provides you with a sound base on which to build a successful career in the public sector (commerce, industry etc). The ACCA qualification offers a passport to worldwide employment and an exciting and rewarding future. It offers security, financial reward and prestige.

You can join ACCA under one of the two schemes

  1. Professional Examination Route (PER): This is the main route to the ACCA qualification, provided you are 18 years of age or older and have 2 'A' Levels and 3 'O' Levels in total of 5 separate subjects including English and Mathematics.
  2. Mature Student Entry Route (MSER): This route suits those who do not have the above minimum qualifications and are 21 years of age or older. Mature students should pass M1/F3 and M2/F2 before they will be allowed to proceed with the course. They should pass these papers within two years from registration with ACCA. Upon successful completion of the papers, ACCA will automatically transfer the student to PER.

Exemptions:
Graduates in business, law, finance, management or accounting may be awarded some exemptions for papers in the Fundamental level. Students will pay an exemption fee for each paper awarded. Contact ACCA for more information.

Registration:
Students who wish to sit for ACCA qualification must be registered with ACCA. This can be done online or using the initial registration forms. Exams are written twice a year.

- December Exam Session

Initial Registration Deadlines:
By 31 December for the June exam session
By 15 August for the December exam session

Application for exemptions:
By 31 January for the June exam session
By 31 July for the December exam session

Exam entry deadlines:
By 15 April for the June exam session
By 15 October for the December exam session

ETHICS MODULE
Students studying for the ACCA qualification will be required to complete an online ethics training module developed by ACCA. Students will be given access to the professional ethics module by ACCA as soon as they become eligible to take paper P1 and will be able to complete the module at their convenience.

E- ACCA full time

This option is designed for those who are unemployed and can conveniently receive lectures between 9:00 am and 2:00pm. See course timetable for a copy

F- ACCA part time


With this option, courses are taught only after 5 pm. Workers can always adopt this session for studies.

ACCA Weekend


This is specifically designed for those who cannot make it during the week may be due to distance and time constraints. Friday evenings, Saturday and Sunday will be used for this option.

IMFA will need a minimum enrolment of 10 students per course with fully paid fees, to run the week end option.

ACCA Revision

This option is open to self study and Non-IMFA students to attend a special revision session for their specific courses prior to attempting their exams.

Oxford Brookes Bsc (Hons) in Applied Accounting

Mentoring Service
Students who have completed the Knowledge module of the ACCA qualification and are in the process of completing the skills module or the Professional module are eligible to sit for the Oxford Brookes Bsc Honours degree in Applied Accounting. The Oxford Brookes degree is highly regarded and based on practical, Professional, employer - driven accounting requirement.
Students should opt for the oxford brookes degree prior to sitting papers F7, F8 and F9.
To be eligible for entry, students must have sat and passed a minimum of F7, F8, and F9.
If you have exemptions for F7, F8, and F9 you will be eligible for the degree program except you give up the exemptions and take the exams for the above courses.
Student are reuired to produce research and analysis project, which is a 5,000 word report and a 1,500 word key skills statement.
IMFA has put in place adequate mentors to oversee your progress through your project as it is Oxford Brookes requirement that any student who is to submit a research and analysis project, should have a mentor. Formal meetings will be scheduled with the mentor during the project preperation and write-up phase.
IMFA mentoring service will cost 60,000FCFA.
